Content marketing article directories have traditionally done well by bum marketing, but they infringe on the main aspect of PUBLISHING SPEED. Anyone practicing knows that the name of the game is who can dominate their chosen long-tail keyword with a flood of articles. Directories like EzineArticles, ArticlesBase, and the like are WAAAAAAAAY too slow when it comes to publishing your content, and are generally to be avoided at all costs unless you confine your efforts to these two sites as they’ve proven themselves real traffic titans due to their nit-picky emphasis on substantive content quality.

Web 2.0 properties are a much better fit for this need. Not only is your publishing unmolested by moderation, but you have full control of link insertion and the like. Web 2.0 properties are indexed super quickly due to some of the relationships that exist between them and the major Search engines (Blogger = Google, Tumblr/Flickr = Yahoo, and the search engines absolutely adore the likes of HubPages, Squidoo, Xanga, LiveJournal, and a host of other similar-themed sites), sometimes in as little as 2-to-3 days! Why would you want to trade instant publishing ability for the suckers’ life of being made to wait, stew, and sweat that your content didn’t get accepted?

Since you’re not hyping affiliate products, your low competition long-tail keyword choices have to accurately reflect what your focus is. What are you trying to capture the search engine front page status with; eBooks, software, audio, video, scripts, or plugins?

Well, if you have a Google AdWords account, you can access the keyword planning tool for your low competition targets. You still need to follow the simple science which dictates that any fitting long-tail phrase for your purposes must be within the 1k-to-5k searches range, although you may have to drill down ruthlessly to find suitable ones. You may be better off using keywordtool.io as there are many more options that will DEFINITELY get you what you need to power past this point.

Besides Web 2.0 properties, you want another heavy-hitter niche type to benefit you in the same way with direct traffic from laser-targeted sourcing looking for what YOU have to sell, or teach – Classified advertising sites. As another black hole traffic titan niche, there are millions upon millions of people traversing all listings, all times of the day or night, and posting Buy and Sell ads constantly. Remember, since search engines literally feed on data, constant content publishing refreshment drives them into orgiastic gyrations of data collection to be sifted, analyzed, and then ranked and indexed.

Both Adpost.com and Kijiji.com  are both places where items are sold for a bunch of real cash. And, even as there are hundreds of thousands of classified advertising sites, these two seem to have it all as far as usership and popularity projection (with Kijiji branching to offline TV commercials PROVING they’re making real revenue as ad spots are notoriously high for North American and Canadian Broadcaster associations), proving that these types of companies no longer have to only rely on the make money online niche market.
